After participating in the symposium on «Machine Translation and Post-editing», the University again invited me to speak on the subject of post-editing during its professional development week, which is organised towards the end of the winter every year by the Faculty of Computer Science and Languages of Anhalt University.
In addition to my workshop, other highly topical issues relevant to the translation industry were on the agenda: software localisation, quality control tools, localisation of video games and terminology management.
My group consisted of German and Russian students, employees of translation agencies and professional freelance translators. Thanks to the mix of participants and their diverse language combinations, we enjoyed an interesting discussion of the performance of MT engines in the respective linguistic environment.
