Article «Pro Produktivität und Vertraulichkeit»

Since 20 March 2018 the neural engine of DeepL (ex Linguee) has been available on a monthly subscription basis (DeepL Pro).

As machine translation is a subject that is very close to my heart, I decided to subscribe immediately to assess all the new functions and the output quality of this highly promising engine.

In the article I focused on the integration of DeepL Pro in Trados Studio 2017, in particular the installation of the plug-in and the interaction experience during the translation process.

The advantages of the subscription are without doubt the numerous combinations of less “popular” languages from other machine translation providers (German-Romance language pairs are a good example) and the possibility of using individual portions of the output via the AutoSuggest function.

Many post-editors (including me) complain that the engines suggest the right words but often in the wrong order. Moving them to the right position in the sentence is very tedious. However, with DeepL Pro you are free to construct each phrase as you prefer by inserting the correct elements directly into the right place. It’s a very useful function!
